40"x20"x20" BOX WAY VMC WITH ANILAM 6400M CONVERSATIONAL CONTROL & ZF GEAR BOX

Source: CHEVALIER - Chevalier Machinery, Inc.
Chevalier's 2040VMC with box ways has been upgraded with ANILAM's new 6400M control and German ZF gear box. Features include conversational and graphic CNC, EIA/ISO G code programming and multiple canned cycles for drilling tapping, milling and boring. The system has 6GB hard drive capacity, RS232 port, floppy disk drive and 12.1" TFT color screen. Standard on the machine is the direct coupled digital AC servos with remote type manual pulse generator. Offered as an option is a2-speed ZF gear box that can generate 250 ft/lb torque at low gear range. The AC Digital 15HP spindle is programmable to 8000RPM. Supporting the spindle are 4 ABEC Class 7 (P4) pre-loaded angular contact bearings. Traverse is 787ipm on the X and Y axis and 708ipm on the Z axis. Productivity enhancing features include: rigid tapping, helical interpolation, macro programming, background editing, teach mode, sub programming, mirror imaging, coordinate system rotation, automatic coordinate setting, tool length measurement, absolute/incremental programming and tool radius compensation. The machines come with a carousel-type, cushioned 20-station automatic tool changer, with an option for a 24-station arm type. Full 5 1/2" wide hardened and ground square ways are perfect for heavy duty steel hogging and provide maximum rigidity. The box way construction, combined with Turcite-B coated ways, ensure stable and smooth traverse even during the 787ipm rapid movement on the X and Y axis. Laser & ballbar calibration testing done in each machine right after assembly ensures submicron accuracies of +/-0.0001" repeatability and +/-0.0002" positioning.
