Mitsubishi Vertical Machining Center Features High Speed Machining and Rigid Roller Bearing Guideways
April 4, 2000
The Mitsubishi Machine Tools M-V60E vertical machining center has many features designed to reduce both cutting and non-cutting times, making it a cost-effective, high accuracy addition to any shop throughout the die making, mold making and production machining industries.
Among the machine's many features are a highly rigid structure; 35 hp high power, high torque drive motor; direct drive 6,000 rpm spindle – optional 12,000 rpm spindle available; innovative roller bearing guideways; high power feed motors on all axes; and a special cam-type, automatic tool changer, which provides extremely fast, 2.0-second tool-to-tool change time.
The rigid roller bearing guideways and high lead ball screws reduce non-cutting time by boosting the rapid traverse speed to 1,181 in./min. (30m/min.) and cutting feed rate to 945 in./min. (24m/min.). To reduce temperature rise and significantly improve machining accuracy, an internal chip conveyor directs cutting fluids and hot cutting chips away from the machine. Other standard features include Inductosyn scale feedback that provides ±0.00006 in. (±1.5µm) positioning accuracy and ±0.00003 in. (±0.75µm) repeatability on all axes plus Mitsubishi's unique thermal displacement compensation system.
