Most recently he served as a sales account manager in the Production Machinery Division of Ingersoll Milling Machine Company. He has also held sales engineering positions at Braun Machinery Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and High Tech Machinery Corporation, Roseville, Michigan, and, early in his career, owned and managed Karr's Auto Parts, Inc., Detroit, an automotive engine rebuilding company.

According to Mr. Kelly, the highly proactive "service-first" philosophy of the Gear Technology Center demands an exceptional individual experienced at every level of machine tool deployment and uptime management. "We don't want to just sit back and wait for a machine problem," he said. "We are now offering several different preventive maintenance programs and spare parts tune-up packages that will improve machine performance and extend uptime, and Neil Sawyer is one of the few people in the U.S. whom we felt could launch and manage such an aggressive program."

Mitsubishi is one of the world's largest designers, developers, and manufacturers of the most diverse lines of gear cutting machines and systems as well as special gear cutting tooling. The Gear Technology Center provides North American manufacturers with stand-alone machines as well as complete gear cutting solutions and, through Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, it can provide total power train production systems.
