Ajax Shows Off Evolution 3 Lathes At MACH (Stand 5194)

Ajax

Starting at £19,950, the Ajax Evolution 3 Series lathes incorporate conventional turning, electronic cycle turning and CNC turning all in one machine. For the manual machinist, the Evolution offers electronic hand-wheels for turning, with the control acting as a simple digital readout-based measuring system.

The Evolution can also be programmed via electronic turning cycles that are well suited to small batch, producing produce multi-point profiles, tapers, radii, grooving and screw-cutting, on the Fanuc 0i Turn Mate control. For the more seasoned machinist producing complicated shapes and larger batch production, the Evolution offers full ISO programming on the control.

AT MACH, Ajax will have the smallest machine in the range on its stand, the AJEV180 model, offering distance between centres of either 750 mm or 1 m with a 180 mm centre height and 360 mm swing over bed. Five other models in the series scale up to over 1 m swing over bed and 5 m distance between centres. Over the series as a whole, spindle bores vary from 42 to 230 mm, motors from 7.5-22 kW and bed widths from 250-500 mm.

The Ajax Evolution machines include enclosed guarding, CE marking, automatic 8-station tool turret, automatic speed range change and a new Fanuc touch screen control and monitor on a sliding pendant. New machines are supplied with an 18-month warranty and are serviced and maintained in the UK by British engineers.

Also on the stand of the manufacturer that is celebrating its 75th anniversary is the AJV550 machining centre and the Interactive CNC milling machine.
