Diversified Machine Systems, Colorado Springs-based manufacturer of custom 3 axis CNC routers & 5 axis CNC machine centers, develops an Engineering Internship as part of the DMS Internship Program to work directly with the in-house Engineering Team.

Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) - Diversified Machine Systems (DMS), a Colorado-based Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of 3 Axis CNC Routers, 5 Axis CNC Routers, and Large Format Machine Centers has expanded the DMS Internship Program to now offer an Engineering Internship.

The in-house Engineering Team at DMS is offering a semester-long Engineering Internship to creative, disciplined, and efficient engineers who are looking for a hands-on, dynamic experience with an international manufacturer. The interns will work directly with the VP of Mechanical Engineering, Steve Bollar and Mechanical Engineer, Clay Guillory, assisting the rest of the engineering team at the DMS World Headquarters at 1068 Elkton Drive in Colorado Springs, CO.

Candidates should have some personal experience working with mechanics or other manufacturing disciplines. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience, as well as Microsoft Office expertise is a bonus. The ideal candidate would be in the field of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics, Pre-Engineering, or other related areas.

The internship is slated to include machine components design in SolidWorks, project management and organizational improvements. No two internships are alike, as machine requests are unique for many DMS clients, and new product lines are regularly being developed.

The DMS Internship Program was launched in the summer of 2013 as part of a community commitment from DMS to offer manufacturing learning opportunities. Now into a fourth successful term with the Sales & Marketing Department, DMS is expanding the program to other department disciplines.

“What we do here is exciting everyday – we’re constantly making new machines and engineering new solutions to meet market demands,” explains Steve Bollar, DMS’ VP of Mechanical Engineering. “Giving time back to students is something we should all be doing, and I’m glad we’re making it a regular part of our business.”

The program is available to students who are eligible to receive course credit through a college or university. Each student has the opportunity to showcase their work as a case study, as approved by DMS, and are the focus of a PRWeb press release published about them and their career goals.

Last year, DMS signed a standing agreement with Pikes Peak Community College to offer this program to their Graphic & Multimedia Design students, to great success. Diversified Machine Systems is now extending that agreement to their Manufacturing & Technical Studies Department, as well as offering it to other colleges and universities.
