MAG Fadal Extends Controls Choices To All FX Series Vertical Machining Centers

Chatsworth, CA - MAG Fadal has announced that it now offers two levels of controls on all three of its FX series vertical machining centers. The VMC 2216FX, 3016FX and 4020FX can be equipped with either a Fadal MP CNC control, popular with job shops due to its simplicity...or a Fadal GE Fanuc 0i-MC digital control for increased performance and features.

The Fadal MP control has become the shop standard at many of the thousands of contract machining and parts manufacturing facilities where it is used. Total installed base is close to 37,000. Its simple menu requires minimum key strokes during operation, and powerful automatic routines for engraving, mill boring, probing, drilling, tapping and pocketing reduce programming and setup time. The Fadal MP control is available for 3-, 4- and 5-axis machining.

Long-time Fanuc control users will appreciate the Fadal GE Fanuc 0i-MC digital control with fully-integrated digital drives and a 32-bit Pentium processor. A customized control specifically for vertical machining, the 0i-MC can command faster rapid traverse rates with intelligent acceleration that reduces spindle non-cutting "air" time. Tool life management and extended part program editing are two of the over 200 standard features. 3-axis machining control capability can be enhanced with an optional 4th-axis rotary interface.

MAG Fadal is committed to offering control choices - the simplicity of the MP or the additional processing power and expanded features of the 0i-MC - to meet the varying metalcutting needs of manufacturers, from die/mold makers to parts producers in the aerospace, automotive, medical and other durable goods industries.
