NCCS Offers Enhanced Machine Simulation Software

Newport Beach, CA - NCCS, the developer of NCL multi-axis machining software for the aerospace, automotive and turbo machinery industry, announced new simulation features resulting in shorter setup times and improving productivity giving companies a greater cost savings.

Enhanced NCL/MS (Machine Simulation)

  • Collisions are detected between all machine tool components including axis slides, heads, rotary tables, spindles, tool changers, fixtures, work pieces, cutting tools, and user-defined objects. This improves productivity by allowing programmers to quickly detect errors before it is run on the machine, which is critical in the use of 5-axis machines.
  • A newly enhanced simulation function has been added to give the programmer a full simulation of the machine and the part by simply creating the simulated solid model of the machine and its machined components. This feature is designed to eliminate costly downtime on the floor in addition to potential damages to the expensive machinery.

According to David Schultz, NCCS' Manager of CAD/CAM Applications, "The NCL/MS module enables the user to visualize the entire machining process offline as it will occur on the actual machine. This allows programmers to foresee any potential errors and/or collisions that may occur."
