18 x 30 Bed Mills

Chevalier answers the market's increasing demand for medium-sized bed mills with its new 1830MB bed type CNC milling machine with 18" (X axis), 30" (Y axis), and 22" (Z axis) travels. The new model is available with two control options: Anilam 3300MK with 4GB HD, 4MB DRAM, 14" color monitor and conversational programming or FANUC OM-D control with its G-code based operating system. Its 10" x 54" table handles workpieces up to 1210lbs. The rapid traverse rate on X & Y axes is 300ipm while feedrate is 0.1-150ipm. A 3HP or 5HP spindle motor and 40in-lb servo motors provide the 1830MB with the right power and speed for jobs like 3 axis simultaneous contouring, canned cycles, sub-routines, repeat cycles, part rotation, scaling, mirror imaging, and cavity mills.

High precision, C4 grade, 1 ¼" hardened and ground ballscrews are used on all three axes, with support provided by Class P4 angular contact ball bearings. Spindle features include quill travel of 5", 4"-26" spindle nose to table, NST40/NST30/R8 tapers and speeds up to 5000rpm. The slideways are dovetail in the X axis and square in the Y & Z axes. The new design also features extra wide machine base, column, saddle and ways for more rigid table support. The motor and pulleys are precision balanced, providing an extremely smooth and low-vibration operation. The machine's automatic lubrication system uses metering valves for proportional lubrication of all critical components during operation. As with other Chevalier machines, the entire structure features honeycomb ribbed and stress-relieved Meehanite castings, Turcite-B coated saddle ways and hardened and ground table.
