3 Axes Gun Drilling Machine

Wesel is proud to introduce its standard design Deep Hole Drilling Center with an "X" axis slide and T-Slotted, cast iron 48" x 54" work surface. "Y" axis containing the gun drill provides the vertical movement that lifts an aluminum shelf. The gun drill unit, an Eldorado Mega 75 has a single spindle drive powered by a 3 HP motor which allows infinitely variable spindle speeds in a dual range up to 11,500 rpm and hole drilling capacity from 5/32" to ¾" diameters. Each axis is supported by rigid welded and stress relieved tubular steel frames.

The motion system design incorporates linear guide ways with re-circulating ball sleeves driven by precision ground ball lead screws. The "Z' axis, the actual gun drill stroke, is a fully programmable through the computerized Numerical Control system which is interfaced with drives and motor assemblies. A "W" axis, which is a fully programmable slide, is also available.
