The A88E horizontal machining center (HMC) is designed to machine medium to large workpieces, including cast iron diesel blocks and heads, and aerospace components as well as larger molds and dies.
The A88E horizontal machining center (HMC) is designed to machine medium to large workpieces, including cast iron diesel blocks and heads, and aerospace components as well as larger molds and dies. The A88E delivers a high rate of metal removal with a wide range of spindle speed from 20 to 12,000 rpm. The 12,000-rpm spindle includes a standard 7/24 50 taper tool interface and accelerate to 6000 rpm in just 1.9 sec.
Standard design includes a center trough, chip conveyor, and new axis covers to facilitate chip evacuation. To further enhance machining performance an HSK A100 spindle is available, as well as an 18,000-rpm spindle option. The A88E spindle column is positioned at different heights to reduce column weight for enhanced acceleration performance. Core-cooled ballscrews help produce rapid traverse rates of 1968 ipm (50m/min).
