ANCA, Inc.l and cutter grinder is equipped with a new automated loading option for regrinding a range of HSS and carbide tools, as well as for cost-effective low-volume manufacturing. The RGX is a five-axis regrinding machine with bi-directional, direct-driven spindle with two wheel packs that accommodates up to three wheels per pack.
The manufacturer states that the grinder with autoloader, which requires minimum setup time, significantly increases productivity and reduces labor costs, making it suitable for regrind shops and in-house tool rooms. The loading system holds up to 40 tools up to 1-in. shank diameter and 6-in. long, allowing users to process a mix of tool shank diameters in a single job.
The grinder's OrderMate software can allow different tool sizes and types to be quickly programmed. A single gripper picks up the tool and inserts it into a pneumatic chuck in the machine spindle. The loader system then fits on the right side of the grinder.
