Light Machines, A Davenport Industries Companyn 2000 is designed for rapid prototyping, jewelry making, engraving, production drilling, and machining low-volume small parts and secondary operations. The machine features a 1-hp brushless DC motor that provides speeds up to 5000 rpm or optimized 10,000 rpm with a standard R8 taper spindle. The work envelope is 12x6x9 in. (XYZ) with an open height of 9 ½ in. Options include a power drawbar, 39,000-rpm spindle, 4th-rotary table, laser calibration for accuracy enhancement, and a digitizing package. Light Machines, A Davenport Industries Companyn 2000 machining center uses a 32-bit DXP motion control card for smooth, fast data processing and utilizes the standard RS-274 NC programming format. All Benchman machines have a cast polymer, granite-line, one-piece base, which is eight times more resistant to vibration than cast iron.
