Bridge-Type Vertical Machining Center
Like all Dah Lih machining centers, the DCM-2233 machining center is a superbly crafted machine tool that is solidly built. The machine bed employs a forge construction technique whereby the X, Y and Z axes slideways are alloy steel and cast iron unit-forged. This upgrades hardness and provides vibration absorption and rust resistance. Ways are hardened with Turcite-B and the 3-axes ball screws are pretensioned, which increases position accuracy by reducing thermal expansion. The unit features a Fanuc 18MC control.
The table has a working surface of 98.4" x 53.2". The T-slot size is 0.87" and there are nine of them. Travel is 87" in the X, 51" in the Y, and 30" in the Z. Cutting feed is 0.04" - 394"/min and the rapid traverse feed is 1181/ 1181 "/787"/min. The automatic tool changer has a 32 tool storage capacity and holds tools that weight up to 40 pounds. Spindles speed is 6,000 rpm and the gear driven spindle motor is 25 hp. The machine weighs 35,200 pounds.
