C1020L2 Cylindrical Grinding Machines
A fine example of American craftsmanship, our C1020L2 and Scepter Cylindrical Grinders are built 100% in the U.S.A. and designed to provide an uncomplicated grinding system at an economical price. Both models feature annealed cast-iron construction throughout the entire machine, including the base, wheelhead, saddle and table. This quality construction provides the C1020 & Scepter with a lifetime of stability and accuracy. The special saddle infeed construction and table features a pre-loaded anti-friction way system, for extreme accuracy of movement.
C1020L2
The C1020L2 features servo-driven movement for
easy operation. The Leematic 2000 control is standard
on this model and provides microprocessor-based
operation of table traverse and wheel infeed travel.
The Leematic 2000 control is menu-driven for simple
operation. Both axes are ballscrew driven, via servo
motors with full closed-loop feedback for accuracy.
Built-in programs include TRAVERSE, STEP, SHOULDER
and PLUNGE grinding cycles, in addition to full in-cycle
WHEEL DRESSING with fully automatic wheel dress compensation.
Menu-prompts allow the operator to "fill in the blank" with
acceptable parameters. Up to 23 programs can be stored
and recalled.
Within a single program, each routine
can be repeated up to 999 times, and the entire cycle
of all routines can also be repeated up to 999 times
for complex part grinding with only one setup.
Additional features of the Leematic 2000 control
include totally integrated circuitry, self-diagnostics,
a back-lit LCD screen, and soft touch keypad with a
contaminant-impervious membrane. Rapid traverse,
rough and fine increments, sparkout passes, and
compensation for lead screw error and backlash are
also included.
Optional internal grinding applications include straight
I.D. and shoulder and step cycles. Optional software
programs, including taper correction/grinding and angle
dressing, are also available. Radius grinding/dressing
requires the use of the CNC control.
Push-button cylindrical grinding made simple
Both models feature a user-friendly control that requires a minimum
of operator training before operation. The Leematic 2000 control
features menu-prompting to "walk" you through the program parameters.
Both models use servo drives for accurate, closed-loop positioning of both axes.
Customized to your application
The multifunctional grinders are capable
of both O.D. and optional I.D. grinding.
Plunge, traverse, shoulder, taper and radius
grinding applications, or combinations of
cycles are available (some cycles require
optional software or use of the CNC model).
Cycles for dressing and wheel form generation
are also available. Workpieces can be held by
chucking or between centers, which makes the
machine ideal for tool room or production
environments. Multi-diameter grinding capabilities
reduce the need for multiple set-ups and improves
overall productivity. Automatic infeed allows
presetting for rapid approach, feedrates, change
points and final sparkout. These features result in
improved speed, accuracy and efficiency of the
grinding process.
