CAD/CAM Electrode Software

Cimatron Technologies Inc.ode is a new CAD/CAM application package for automating the electrode process for mold and die makers. It can be used for burn area selection, electrode design, management, documentation, and manufacture of solid or surface geometry.

The package features analysis capabilities for burn area selection; top-down assembly capabilities for surface extraction; advanced surface creation/modification tools for electrode design; bottom-up assembly modeling capabilities for blanks, bases, and holders; high-end NC programming capabilities for electrode machining; and integrated detailing and drafting to document the EDM process. Burn areas are optimized based on the minimum tool size used to machine the job.

The package's Navigator offers full control over the display and activation of a single or group of electrodes, while allowing several users to work collaboratively on the same part. The tool utilizes a Wizard-based construction of electrode blank and base with optional shape, size, and location from a standards library. The product's report generation features automate documentation (set-up sheets, burn locations, and electrode schedule).
