Kurt Manufacturing, Industrial Products DivisionrvLock Cluster Tower is a 4 in. workholding device that is designed for smaller machining centers including horizontals or verticals with a fourth axis. The CTU4 Cluster Tower maximizes multiple part workholding for best spindle utilization, reducing tool change time and reducing machine travel from part to part. The tower, like its bigger brother, the 6-in. CTU6 Cluster Tower, is made from ductile iron (80,000 psi) to achieve workpiece immobility and to dampen cutter-induced vibration. The strength, rigidity, and durability are 2.4 times (236%) more resistant to deflection from cutting forces and clamping loads than aluminum. Job-to-job setup accuracy is said to be within 0.001 in.
