The fourth version – Esprit 99 – incorporates support for mill and lathe operations
Boasting a user interface that's said to make it easy for the first-time user, the fourth version – Esprit 99 – incorporates support for mill and lathe operations as well as other tools that can trim the time it takes to program machine tools.

This native Windows (95, 98 and NT) CNC programming package performs automatic milling, which lets you immediately generate an area profile for rest material; creates machinable features for uncut material; automatically creates machinable features from a solid model; and can save part files as graphic images for use in other applications and incorporate images on Excel-based setup sheets. Live tooling support, with c- and y-axis mill-turn, allows you to implement "live tooling" of milling on a lathe.

The software uses knowledge-based machining and adaptive feature recognition, which adapt to varying levels of user expertise to automate CNC programming, uses more than 800 postprocessors, and can instantly connect to any machine on the shopfloor.
