CNC Surface Grinder

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Machines Inc.II is a larger version of the popular Harig CNC surface grinder with a 5 hp spindle motor that offers both manual and automatic operation. The machine offers a large 12x24 in. work area and a 12 in. standard grinding wheel to accommodate larger dies and molds. An optional 14 in. grinding wheel is available and may be used without changing the wheel guard.

The machine features Bridgeport's easy-to-use PC-based control. The operator inputs finished part dimensions at the menu prompts and the software calculates the machine movements necessary to create the finished part. No computer or CNC experience is necessary.

The control provides automatic grinding of tapers and radii, as well as canned cycles for wheel dressing and grinding operations. A graphic preview function allows the operator to verify the wheel and diamond dresser paths on the screen before grinding. EZSURF provides rapid traverse of 100 ipm on the vertical Y axis and crossfeed Z axis. Axis travels are ballscrew-driven by DC digital servo drives.
