The Traub TNL 12/7 CNC Swiss turning machine line is a modular sliding headstock machine that can handle either simple or more complex workpieces at increased speed and productivity. The TNL 12/7 is offered in three versions. The L Version includes the headstock Z-axis and a 6-station turret with Y-axis. The Y-axis allows either two (gang-style) tools per station, or 3-axis milling in conjunction with power-driven tools in the turret. The E Version adds endworking, as well as backworking capability using an opposed pickup spindle and backworking tool carrier. To increase productivity up to three tools can be employed simultaneously. The K Version includes a second turret with a Z-axis. This arrangement allows overlapped machining of additional OD tools with other tools, increasing the total number of tools in-cut to four for maximum productivity, a milestone for single-spindle machines. Other options include live tools and a Y-axis for the backworking tools.
