Command Tooling Systems Achieves ISO 9001 Certification
Command Tooling Systems, LLC (Minneapolis, MN) has achieved the ISO 9001 certificate of approval from SGS International Certification Services Inc (SGS ICS). The certificate of approval, issued by SGS ICS, is accredited in the U.S. by the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB).
"Command's certification culminates months of intense research, planning, and development in establishing quality management processes," says Joseph Norwood, president of Command Tooling. "The certification is based on the twenty quality system elements of the ISO 9001 international standard." Certification is one aspect of Command's formalized Total Quality Management System.
"The standard enhances Command's entire operation—sales, customer service, finance and credit, scheduling, purchasing, machining and shipping," Norwood explains. "It has helped Command improve documentation and the way it does business, allowing the company to achieve a high, consistent level of quality in production.
"Many of Command's customers are in aerospace, automotive, and other high technology industries and require ISO certification of their vendors," says Norwood, noting that ISO 9001 certification provides "an important competitive edge."
Command manufactures a complete line of toolholders for precision, high-speed CNC machining of critical parts used in products such as jet aircraft, automobiles, and computers.
