Chevalier's all-new CG1200 and 1400 series universal cylindrical grinders offer wheelhead repeatability of one micron
Chevalier's all-new CG1200 and 1400 series universal cylindrical grinders offer wheelhead repeatability of one micron (+/-0.000040"), making it ideal for ID and OD grinding jobs. The control panel uses a menu driven LCD touch screen for easy operation. The wheelhand is precisely positioned by a specially designed play-compensating feed nut and hardened and ground leadscrew driven by a stepping motor. The variable speed workhead runs at 25-350 rpm and swivels 90° counterclockwise, increasing the machine's versatility. The new table design permits swivel in both directions for taper grinding. A graduated scale and indicator are provided for quick setup. The manual handwheel automatically disengages the table's automatic feed.

These new machines have an extra wide lever operated tailstock that allows quick loading/unloading of workpieces. The center pressure is adjustable to avoid shaft deflection. A high precision cartridge type spindle is permanently lubricated and uses Class7 (P4) angular contact ball bearings for excellent vibration dampening and superior rotational accuracy. Table and wheelhand V & flat guideways are precision ground, laminated with Turcite-B and then hand-scraped. Cross and head travels are 9.64" with 1" of quill travel. Many models are available with choices from 12" to 14" swings. With this new design, superior features and improved reliability, Chevalier gives shops another option to increase productivity at an affordable price.
