Eastec 2000 Broke Records, Sponsor Says

The recent Eastec 2000 trade show lived up to its billing as the East Coast's largest annual manufacturing exposition, according to show co-sponsors the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME; Dearborn, MI).

Held at the Eastern States Exposition Grounds in West Springfield, MA, the three-day event attracted a record 21,557 attendees. Visitors saw metalworking technology from 782 exhibitors who occupied 204,937 ft2 of exhibit space—also a record.

The show was co-sponsored by SME, The American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA; Rockville, MD) and AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology (McLean, VA).

Eastec 2001 is scheduled to take place May 22-24, 2001 at the Eastern States Exposition Grounds.
