Eight Spindle Vertical CNC Chucker: The INDEX MV200 Production Center

INDEX CorporationV200 Production Center is basically designed for chuck work for pieces which are produced from castings, forgings, fine blanking and bar slugs. Possible processes include:

• All traditional turning operations
• Mill drill (machining center type) work
• Special tooling such as multi-spindle drill heads and high frequency drill/mill spindles
• Special machining processes such as grinding and laser welding
• Post-process gauging or parts washing

All of the above processes, including loading and unloading of the parts, are overlapped. This unique concept also allows machining of one side or both sides of a part in one cycle and two parts per cycle for simple parts that do not require many operations. The machine is capable of running cycle times of less than 4 seconds. Chuck capacity ranges up to 8 inches. Typically, the MV200 would replace from 4 up to 8 individual CNC machines, yet requires a lower investment. The machine remains highly versatile, allowing changeover to other sizes of a part family within hours or even changeover to a different job. Automation, chucks and tooling are fully flexible and capable of handling a wide range of parts.
