The HL-25 is a powerful, large capacity lathe that can profitably produce small to large lot parts. The huge turret casting, incorporating an oversized curvic coupling, can cut from 1/16" to 9.8" diameter and up to 23.5" lengths in a wide variety of materials. Featuring Fanuc high speed controls and drives, the superior cutting, accuracy's and finishes are maintained for years with little or no service.

The 12 Station Turret is a proven and a mature design. It's Bi-Directional Turret is designed to select the shortest route for the next tool and it keeps non-cutting time to an absolute minimum. Having an oversized casting which incorporates a large curvic coupling, the turret can cut effectively and maintain it's integrity for many years.

The Bed, a solid one piece casting, is made from close grain Meehanite Cast Iron. The ribbing locations and wall thickness are placed in strategic locations determined by computer finite analysis. This design assures consistent accuracy's and excellent finishes. The Saddle has a 30 degree incline, directing chips and coolant in to the chip conveyor.

The Headstock, is made using close grain meehanite. It is equipped with six, class 7 precision bearings that are greased lubed. The large Spindle Hole (2.4"), permits over the lathe to accept up to 2" Bar Stock.

The high torque 20/15 horse power Fanuc Spindle Motor makes heavy stock removal simple and fast, while minimizing the number of roughing cuts required. This powerful A.C. Digital Spindle Drive system offers superior spindle acceleration, while maintaining excellent low end torque. Our Gearless Spindle eliminates spindle vibration, ensuring high quality finishes.

Both the X and Z Axes are driven by A.C. Digital Servo Motors. They are directly coupled to our high Precision Ball Screws and supported at both ends by angular contract thrust bearings. This double supported design, assures excellent positioning accuracy, repeatability and minimizes thermal growth.

The Tailstock is mounted on precision scraped ways which insure that oil is maintained between the way and under the tailstock. It's large size quill, has a 3.9" stroke and accepts the Morse Taper #4 centers. The standard Programmable Quill is activated by our machine mounted foot pedal. No hunting for the pedal, as found on many competitors free moving type units. Also available is a Fully Programmable Tailstock, (Body/Quill) as an option.

Lubrication is automatically metered to the guideways, ball screws and tailstock quill. Lubrication to these critical areas and the volume, is precisely metered. A low lube level alarm is generated, which prevents the machine from restarting, if the level of oil is below it's safety level.

All Durga models are equipped with a high pressure type Coolant Pump Motor. The 12 station turret uses several methods of directing the coolant exactly where it is needed. Our tool holders have been designed to let the user determine the way the coolant can best be utilized. The I.D. Holders can direct the coolant through a tool (such as needed for deep hole boring applications). The holder can use flexible coolant lines, which come out of the side of our holder. Lastly, if a sleeve is being used, our sleeves can direct coolant under or above the actual tool being used. The O.D. applications are even simpler, by blocking the I.D. hole (for coolant, normally used for the I.D. holder), the coolant is then directed to the
