The Ways are induction hardened to 55-60C.X.100 deep and are precision ground. Column base, and cross slides are lined with turcite (A Low Friction Material). Turcite provides excellent wear and slip stick characteristics due to it's low coefficient of friction.

It also provides good vibrational damping. Turcite and Dynamic stiffness to the machine. Y-Axis utilizes (4) four guide ways to give full support of the saddle which provides greater rigidity and eliminates X-Axis overhang.

Lubrication to all axes is done automatically to ensure longevity of the ways. Center mounted large diameter high precision Japanese angular contact ball screws are pre-loaded with the nut when installed. This ensures zero backlash and smooth motion through the machining process.

A Cartridge Type Spindle is dynamically balanced for smooth operation and long life. Class 7 Angular Contact Bearings are used. Thermal stability of the spindle is maintained by a Spindle Cooling System.
