Fiber-Optic Laser: BELAZ Has Introduced Laser Metal Cutting Technology

Fiber – optic laser cutting technology is one of the most advanced in the world. It ensures high precision and quality in sheet metal processing. It is precisely these new-generation laser systems that have been introduced during the modernization of BELAZ's main production facility for mining equipment.

Two high-precision closed-type fiber-optic laser cutting machines have been commissioned in the company's press workshop. The units are equipped with sealed protective modules, powerful 6-kilowatt laser emitters, and an intelligent software control system for high-speed and maximum precision metalworking.

The lasers of the new BELAZ industrial complex are designed for automatic laser cutting of carbon and corrosion-resistant steels, aluminum, brass and copper. They have already proven themselves to be a reliable and versatile tool that ensures high-quality products and quick equipment changeover.

Fiber-optic lasers are highly energy efficient. In terms of efficiency, cutting with a fiber emitter is almost twice as efficient as metal processing using a different laser technology - a gas CO2 laser machine.

The new equipment is highly safe and environmentally friendly: the closed housing and exhaust system guarantee complete protection against laser radiation and eliminate air pollution. The video camera inside the case allows you to track the entire workflow on the operator's monitor.
