Four-spindle CNC Lathe with Gantry Loader

Included as standard on this company's VT-400 four-spindle CNC lathe is a high-speed gantry loader for automatic part loading. The four-spindle design of the lathe allows users to machine parts on two spindles while parts are loaded and unloaded on the other two spindles. Each spindle is capable of machining identical or different parts independently.

According to the manufacturer, the gantry-type automatic part loading system takes only minutes for changeover time between the same family of parts. In addition, many different part loading programs can be stored in the control unit for quick changeover. All the motions in the part loading cycle are programmable right on the machine, and when part loading has been interrupted during a cycle, loading can be resumed at the same point from which it stopped. The full 3-axis servo-driven part loading system is said to be easy-to-use and maintenance-free. The gantry loader has traverse rates of 4,725 ipm in the X- axis; 1,968 ipm in the Y-axis; and 3,937 ipm in the Z-axis.
