Gantry-Type Machining Center

The 3-axis, gantry-type high-speed machining centers utilize a patented, inclined vertical workpiece holding
N/A gantry-type high-speed machining centers utilize a patented, inclined vertical workpiece holding configuration that is designed for carving a large variety of parts out of plate stock made from aluminum, plastic, steel, or fabricated components. The coolant-free LCA FB machines have a fixed vertical machine table inclined at 10° to facilitate loading of the plate stock and to assure precise plate stock location. Hot chips fall away from the worktable, eliminating massive chip buildup as well as the risk of temperature-induced deformation. A gantry carries the milling spindle head along the X and Y axes while the spindle itself provides the Z travel. The gantry is driven by two synchronized, stationary ballscrew systems (the ballnut is driven by a variable AC feed drive) on top and bottom of the machine table, achieving feedrates up to 750 ipm. The 44-hp high-speed spindle provides speed range from 0 to 22,000 rpm. The tool changer holds 6 tools (standard) and 12 or 24 tools optional.
