GE Compare Software Tracks PLCs, Troubleshoots Automation

Total Control Products (TCP: Edmonton, AB, Canada) and GE Fanuc Automation (Charlottesville, VA) have introduced GE Compare, an fxManager software tool for tracking and managing changes to GE Fanuc Series 90-30 and Series 90-70 programmable logic controllers. The first in a new series of fxManager Productivity Tools, GE Compare identifies PLC logic, data, and documentation changes and provides invaluable troubleshooting information.

"Managing a plant requires monitoring and identifying changes made to automation systems," explains John Bergsten, manager of TCP's fxManager business unit. "This new GE Compare software provides the means for quick, easy management of Series 90 PLC applications. This tool and others like it in the fxManager software family go beyond simply controlling change and, instead, free engineers and managers to improve their plant operations."

Features of GE Compare include:

  • Choice of data types and ranges for comparison
  • Simultaneous scans of both data tables and documentation
  • Smart Logic Compare to ensure re-synchronization when rungs are inserted or deleted
  • On-screen or HTML results
