GibbsCAM Millennium Edition software will be a featured demonstration at the SolidWorks World 2001 conference, Feb. 11–14 in Orlando, FL. The conference brings together designers, engineers, managers, and partners to discuss ideas, trends, and the technology shaping the future of mechanical design.

According to GibbsCAM developer Gibbs & Associates (Moorpark, CA), the software features a graphical user interface that provides ease-of-use, enabling design professionals to easily turn their designs into manufacturing reality.

GibbsCAM is designed to provide "best-in-class" manufacturing capability in applications from job shops to rapid prototyping environments to in-house design/manufacturing groups.

As a SolidWorks Solution Partner, Gibbs & Associates offers SolidWorks users CNC programming applications covering production milling and turning through complex multi-surface machining for both off-line and on-line environments.

GibbsCAM's ability to directly read and machine native SolidWorks model files provides powerful interoperability and associativity between GibbsCAM and SolidWorks. Not only can SolidWorks designs be operated on without fear of losing valuable geometric information, GibbsCAM can also accommodate design revisions, which are an everyday occurrence in design/manufacturing environments. Working closely with SolidWorks ensures that GibbsCAM keeps pace with the latest SolidWorks capabilities.

"SolidWorks continues to be a dominant player in the high-performance, mainstream CAD market. SolidWorks provides the user with powerful functionality, previously only available in high-end, workstation-based systems, and a Microsoft Windows interface, making it extremely easy to learn and use. This fits well with GibbsCAM's commitment to ease-of-use while delivering powerful capability," said Bill Gibbs, president and founder of Gibbs & Associates. "We look forward to demonstrating just how easy it is to manufacture SolidWorks designs with GibbsCAM at this year's SolidWorks World."

"The fast paced growth of Gibbs and Associates is further proof that blending high-end productivity with ease-of-use is a winning combination." added Robert McGill, manager of SolidWorks Partner Program. "The ability of GibbsCAM to read SolidWorks native files provides a versatile, industry-proven solution to end-users. Users can reduce their time to market by cutting SolidWorks parts with GibbsCAM's easy-to-use, powerful CAM tools."
