Haas Quick Code/Esprit PC-Based Programming Debuts

DP Technology Corp (Camarillo, CA) and Haas Automation, Inc. (Oxnard, CA) announce the availability of a PC-based Windows (trademark of Microsoft) version of Haas' Quick Code programming. Previously, Haas has offered Quick Code as a programming utility on its machine tool controls. Machinists now have the additional flexibility and convenience of having Quick Code on a personal computer.

The PC version of Quick Code is a G-code editor with conversation style dialog boxes that help the machinist throughout the manual G & M code programming process. The program includes calculators for angles, drill depth, and simple math; an automatic speeds and feeds database and calculator; a tap drill and decimal equivalent chart; DNC to Haas machines from a PC; complete G-code text editor; and On-line help. G-codes are automatically formatted to meet Haas Automation factory specifications and ISO G-code compatibility standards.

Distribution and hardware requirements

DP Technology is providing Esprit Machinist / Haas Quick Code with a demo of its Esprit CAM software. It is available exclusively through Haas Automation, its authorized resellers, and through all DP Technology resellers.

Haas Quick Code / ESPRIT Machinist is 100% Windows-compliant and requires Windows 95/98/NT, a minimum 800 x 600 screen resolution, minimum 256 screen color depth, 32 MB RAM, and 10 MB disk space.

ESPRIT Machinist / Haas Quick Code has a retail value of $495.00. It is provided free of charge by Haas and DP Technology to their respective customers (i.e. DP Technology customers with active support contracts).
