N/Aline of high-density rubber collets offers twice the clamping capacity of split steel collets while maintaining both grip and accuracy throughout the entire clamping range. The collet design utilizes a proprietary rubber and hardened stainless steel jaw insert construction that resists the effects of heat, coolants, corrosion, and impact, which provides longer collet life.
This line's collets are available in 28 different sizes ranging in 0.03125-in. increments from a 0.125 in. clamping range (3.2 mm) to 1 in. (25.4 mm). The manufacturer also has available four different collet sets.
Independent testing has established that higher gripping force provides more positive contact with the cutting tool shank, giving performance with respect to torsional slip and total indicator runout (TIR) that meets the DIN 6499 standard for tool runout.
