MakinoS high-speed milling machine is designed with higher feedrates, superior accuracies to cut steel cores and cavities—as well as cut graphite or copper electrodes. MakinoS has a maximum feedrate of 630 ipm (16 m/min) and a feed mechanism that adopts linear motion guides for faster machine response. The standard CAT 40 taper high-speed spindle has a top speed of 20,000 rpm and is designed tin minimize thermal growth and workpiece distortion by utilizing patented cooling technology. Makino's Flush Fine (FF) advanced milling technique produces the superior finishes. Maximum table capacity if 550 lb (250 kg). XYZ travels are 23.62x15.75x15.75 in. (60x400x400mm). A standard 15-tool automatic tool changer permits unattended machining. For graphite machining, a powerful dust collector creates a powerful suction and the pressure differential in the machining area prevents dust from escaping into the work environment.
