The Howa MSN-P320-VCJ from Mitsui Machine Techology is a compact, vertical machining center featuring a fast, rapid traverse rate reaching 1,417 ipm on the X and Y axis and 1,181 ipm on the Z-axis. The machine has a 10,000-rpm direct drive spindle usng 5.0-hp motor and can reach that speed in 0.47 seconds. Deceleration is 0.64 seconds and orientation is only 0.17 seconds.
The 176-lbs. capacity turntable is driven by a worm wheel directly coupled to the 1.2-hp servo motor that also provides extremely fast and smooth acceleration, deceleration and rotational positioning. Postioning accuracry is ±0.001 in.
The 16-tool magazine capacity tool changer offers random positioning in just 0.8 seconds. The Howa vertical machining center also uses Fanuc 18MC Series controls for enhanced data processing and improved machine function for greater productivity.
