Hydromat receives Eaton top capital equipment supplier award
Capital equipment suppliers were evaluated by a cross-functional team, consisting of engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and purchasing, explains Bob Kegg, plant purchasing manager. All suppliers were rated across five categories: price, delivery, quality, service after the sale, and a six-hour run-off at both the supplier and Eaton facilities.
"Hydromat continues to demonstrate superior leadership in all of our critical measurables," says Kegg, "and a common machining strategy has been one of the keys to our success." There are 23 Hydromat machines in the Roxboro facility.
"Their continued leadership in the area of technological enhancements and a highly trained workforce have consistently kept Hydromat ahead of its nearest rival," says Kegg. "Hydromat is held in the highest regard at the Roxboro facility. As a company, they have shown sensitivity to our markets and the customers we serve."

Important strategic manufacturing issues for the Roxboro facility include uptime, ease of maintenance, spare parts availability, and a quick "ramp up" in operator training, says Kegg.
"To support a common machining strategy, we must have a flexible workforce and machines that do what they're designed to do—turn out quality parts at the required cycle time—day after day, year after year," says Kegg.
The award was given during the plant's annual supplier recognition day held by the Eaton Engine Components—North America Automotive Components Division in Roxboro, NC.
Hydromat manufactures and assembles precision transfer machines—rotary, inline, trunnion, and Rismat models, as well as its HT HydroTurn Series machines.
