This company has available three styles of grippers—Edge Grippers, straight-serration grippers, and single-point grippers for workholding where traditional diamond or pyramid serrated grippers will not provide adequate holding.

The Edge Gripper (0.25- to 1.0-in. square style is a hardened (HRC 60-62) M2 H.S.S. gripper with a slim line for use in low profile areas, such as machining center milling vises and chuck jaws where gripping surface areas may be restricted. They mount to the top of the jaw, so all machining of the mounting pockets for the gripper insert can be accomplished right in the machining center, saving setup time and improving quality.

Straight-serration grippers are available in four different tooth patterns with sizes from 0.375- to 1.0-in.square and round—0.375- and 0.5-in. high. They are said to provide more directional strength when compared with pyramid serrations. For example, in turning application torsional holding is achieved and spreading the load over a larger area helps to minimize witness marks. Linear design can also make part loading and unloading easier.
