Inspection System for Complex Parts

For use with coordinate measuring machines and inspection arms, PowerInspect is a stand-alone software package that lets you inspect complex machined parts and compare them with the original CAD models. Applications include inspection of prototypes, molds, tools, patterns, batch parts, and master models.

Designed to reduce downtime, the software compares a part or tool with the original 3D CAD model and highlights discrepancies. Features include easy setup using plane/line/point (six degrees of freedom); freeform positioning by a minimum of six surface points; true 3D offset and visible graphical display; and surface point measuring including guided point (with X-Y-Z), on-the-fly inspection points, surface edge measuring, and section inspections.

The system provides 3D inspection during all production stages and supports 3D wireframe, simple, NURBS, and trimmed surfaces geometry. The 3D viewer offers six standard views (two isometric and four user-defined), dynamic rotation, smooth refresh, and automatic layout. Hardware requirements include Pentium PC with at least 64 MB RAM, 250 MB hard drive, and either Windows 95 or NT.
