Koyo Model 4520C Centerless Grinder

The compact Koyo Model 4520C centerless grinder for production, equipped with an ultra-high speed double swing-arm auto loader, can eliminate idle time, maximizing output of high-quality components.

Using rigidly supported grinding and regulating wheel spindles, the Model 4520C can effectively utilize CBN and diamond wheels as well as conventional abrasive wheels. The machine achieves superior geometry and surface finish characteristics in a variety of difficult to grind materials and a range of parts from 0.05" to 1.57" diameter.

CNC-controlled rotary diamond truing of the 12-in. dia. regulating wheel contributes to accomplishment of even the tightest roundness tolerances, and the Model 4520C provides four-millionths resolution in each CNC axis. CNC rotary diamond dresser for the grinding wheel assures consistent wheel condition during production grinding.

The environmentally responsible machine design includes full guarding and mist control. The thermally stable bed design permits easy operator access to the work area, and prevents direct contact of cutting fluid to the bed surfaces.

Automated part handling systems are easily interfaced with the machine. The machine itself is engineered to permit quick changeover to handle part sizes and shapes within its range. Users can easily tailor the Koyo grinding process to match production and part specifications through the Fanuc CNC.
