Cincinnati Machine, A UNOVA Companyital Hawk TC-300 CNC turning center features a large thru-hole bar stock capacity of 3.5-in. (90 mm), a maximum turning swing of 26.8-in. (680 mm), a turning diameter of 16.6-in. (421 mm), and a turning length of 40-in. (1016 mm).

The turning center comes with a hydraulically actuated 12-in. (300 mm) chuck powered by a single-range, gearless spindle drive. The standard high torque, 3,000 rpm spindle drive motor delivers a full 50 MTDR hp (37 kW). According to the manufacturer, the machine's duty rated spindle permits sustained productivity in hard metals and with high cutting loads. In addition, a special toothed-belt drive is said to virtually eliminate side loads on the spindle motor and bearings. The machine also features a true 45° slant-bed design made of cast iron to deliver exceptional rigidity, vibration damping, and chip removal efficiency.

The turning center's maintenance-free linear guideways are designed to enable faster processing by reducing sliding friction to one-fiftieth that of conventional guideways, according to the manufacturer. Additionally, advanced digital scale feedback (standard on the X-axis) can delivers day-to-day part consistency with repeatability of ±0.00004-in. (±1 µ).

The machine comes standard with the GE Fanuc 21i-TA CNC. This control well suited for shops already running on the Fanuc and features rapid machine-to-machine and machine-to-PC communications.
