Lexair High Pressure Hydraulic Collet Closer Are Built For Machining Center Applications

LEXINGTON, KY (December 22, 1999) - New high pressure hydraulic collet closers from Lexair, Inc. are designed for heavy duty clamping in workholding applications.

Lexair High Pressure Hydraulic Collet Closers operate at 5,000 psi line pressure and accept all standard 5C, 16C and 3J collets. A double-acting cylinder design ensures positive opening and closing of the collet. These new, all-steel high pressure hydraulic collet closers are designed with a fixed length so that the collet and part do not move, maintaining a fixed height from part to part.

A small, compact profile allows several closers to be clustered on a fixture and operate simultaneously with two hydraulic fittings. Individual closers in the cluster can be coupled on three sides using standard connector bushings. Lexair offers a full line of hydraulic accessories, including fittings, hydraulic pumps, valves, hoses, and couplers to support the high pressure hydraulic collet closer line.
