Milacron elects chairman and CEO effective June 1

Cincinnati, OH—The board of directors of Milacron Inc. today elected Ronald D. Brown chairman and chief executive officer effective June 1, 2001. He will succeed Daniel J. Meyer, Milacron's chairman and chief executive since 1990, who will turn 65 and retire at the end of May. Mr. Meyer will stand for reelection as a director at the company's annual meeting on April 24, 2001.
Having served as Milacron's president and chief operating officer as well as a member of the company's board for the past two years, Mr. Brown, 47, will retain the title of president.
Previously he had served as senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer with responsibility for corporate finance, treasury, accounting, human resources, and other administrative functions.
Overall, Mr. Brown has 20 years of operating, financial, administrative and managerial experience at Milacron. He joined the company in 1980 as assistant corporate counsel and subsequently served in various legal and financial roles. He was elected treasurer in 1989 and chief financial officer in 1993.
Mr. Brown serves on the advisory board of the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration and on the boards of trustees of Ursuline Academy, the Greater Cincinnati United Way and the American Red Cross-Cincinnati area chapter. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Dayton, and a bachelor of business administration degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati.
