NEW 15000RPM VMC FOR HIGH VOLUME PRODUCTION

Chevalier has the new FTC-1320V traveling column vertical machining center with 20"x13"x10" XYZ travels for high speed drilling, tapping and light duty milling with super fine finish. The machine is equipped with direct drive ultra-low inertia spindle motor which peaks at 15,000rpm. Travel speed is 1417ipm on XY and 1181ipm on Z axes. The maximum speed on rigid tapping is 6000RPM. Positioning accuracy is ±0.0001" while repeatability is ±0.00008". A bi-directional access, cam type tool changer does random tool call-up at shortest pass, resulting in 0.8 secs. tool change. A servo-driven turntable provides smooth acceleration and deceleration. The turntable turns 180° in 2 seconds flat for ZERO loading and unloading time during the machining cycle. All three axes use super precision THK SNS linear guideways for speed and accuracy. An air purge spindle protects the bearings. Controlling the machine's functions is the Mitsubishi 64M series, known in the industry for high speed processing and reduced wiring in a compact unit. The 64M series offers an array of features specifically designed for smaller machine models: 64 bit RISC processor; serial link for servos, spindle, DI/DO and display to reduce wiring; improved PLC capabilities with its PLC-dedicated LSI and AC digital CNC and servo. The spindle is fully supported by angular contact ball bearings mounted at a 15° angle for optimum rigidity and accuracy during high speed machining. A small fooprint (61"x132" total floor area requirement) makes it ideal for factory automation and machining cells. Standard accessories include 16 tool ATC, turntable, alarm lamps and automatic door with safety switch.
