NEW HIGH PRECISION CNC PROFILE GRINDER FOR UNATTENDED OPERATION

Chevalier is introducing a new multi-purpose CNC profile grinder designed for heavy duty surface grinding as well as complicated profile grinding with ultra fine surface finish and super precision accuracy. The FSG-H2460CNC can execute multiple grinding applications with fully automatic wheel dressing with compensation, enabling it to run unattended for hours. Chevalier's "Customized Canned Program" makes this machine so easy to use, all the operator needs is to fill in the blanks as prompted. The crossfeed slideway system features linear slideways, precision ballscrews and FANUC AC digital servo motors that provide high load carrying capacity, speed and positioning accuracy/repeatability within 0.0001". The longitudinal slideways feature a double "V" configuration for improved structural rigidity and stability of the front base. A large diameter, sealed cartridge spindle is held in place by 6 class 7 (P4) permanently lubricated angular contact ball bearings and has an aircooled, dynamically balanced and totally enclosed motor. Hydraulic counterweights are installed in the spindle head to eliminate backlash and prevent the premature wear of the elevating ballscrew. In "B" model machines, the table is driven by a precision ballscrew and FANUC AC digital servo motor for creepfeed grinding. "H" model machines are hydraulic driven. A hydraulic oil chiller is provided in the "H" models to minimize heat buildup during heavy machining conditions. The column and guideway systems are cast from Meehanite cast iron, ribbed and stress-relieved to resist flexing and vibration. Smooth and stable travel is further assured with hardened and ground elevating square ways and Turcite-B lamination in the slideways. An automatic lubrication system uses a pressure sensor that monitors lubrication pressure, shutting the machine down when the pressure drops to designated levels. Models are also available in 24"x40" and 24"x80" table sizes.
