New Vise Handle
The repetitive manual clamping and unclamping in a milling (machine) vise can be a tiring and sometimes dangerous routine in many machine shops.
Sparro Machine Products of Westerly Rhode Island claims that standard handles supplied with most vises are simply a means of applying clamping force....period. That there is very little design consideration for the vise operators' convenience, safety, and work effectiveness.
In most vise set-ups, the standard long swivel handle and the long sliding handle is just too much handle. They are tough to manipulate, and they must be removed from the vise after every use.
The small "spider or spoke" type handles are a problem too, particularly in close quarters.
These handles take up a lot of room, and they don't provide much for high clamp force requirements.
To address these shortcomings, Sparro Machine has developed an indexable crank style handle that not only performs in tight areas, but also remains attached to the vise where it can....
Their "QuikTite" handle won't allow injury pinch points, or interfere with machine movements on knee type millers.
The new handle also includes a twin-grip model for two handed use.
Additional information and a demonstration on "QuikTite" can be seen on Sparro's website at www.sparro.com/quiktite.htm
