The world leader in 100% solid state radio frequency induction heating, today announced the availability of the Nova Star 3kW induction heating power supply.

With operating frequency ranges of 50 kHz to 2MHz available, the Nova Star 3 allows smaller parts to be heated more quickly and with greater precision and control than ever before. It provides a very flexible solution for precision heating applications such as adhesive curing, annealing, bonding, brazing, case hardening, getter firing, heat treating, materials testing, metal/plastic insertion, outgassing, pin sealing, shrink fitting and soldering.

The Nova Star 3 is supplied with a remote heat station that, depending on the application, may be mounted up to 60 meters away from the power supply. Additional non-simultaneous heat stations may be added to the system as required.

Nova Star 3 microprocessors continuously track the resonant frequency of the tank circuit and the coil/part combination and adjust output frequency to the peak of resonance, maximizing power transfer to the workpiece. An internal timer can be set for heat intervals from 11 milliseconds to 60 minutes. Power output can be set to maintain constant tank voltage, tank current or power at the workpiece.

Designed and built under Ameritherm's ISO-9001 quality process, the Nova Star 3 complies with all applicable international safety standards, including CE. It has user-friendly front panel controls, optional RS-232 / RS-485 control communications and a wide range of user I/O. The Nova Star is easily integrated with computer equipment and temperature control systems. It incorporates a 4-20 mA input circuit and may be controlled through optical pyrometers or thermocouples.

Customers are invited to submit their part samples and precision heating applications to Ameritherm's Applications Laboratory for a NO CHARGE evaluation using the new Nova Star Technology.
