The new OpenFactory family of open architecture CNCs combines PC hardware and a suite of Windows-based software applications to allow users to maximize their machine productivity while maintaining the reliability and precision of traditional CNC control hardware. The CNCs family can be expanded with a range of third party software, and the end-user or machine tool builder may customize several of the core applications.

The manufacturer states that these CNCs enable most existing machine tools with a range of different manufacturers' CNCs to be easily upgraded and integrated into the enterprise.

This new family of software applications is designed to help users meet ISO-900x document control standards, develop machine-independent part-processing definitions, minimize setup time and delays, monitor machine performance, and schedule preventative maintenance. Software applications include document management, monitoring and remote control software, part programming and program management, customer application development tools, and bundled packages.
