This standard open waterjet cutting cell is designed for production flexibility and integration into production lines while providing multiple station access. Initial applications have included installations for cutting holes in automotive headliners and floor carpets.
The cutting cell includes a six-axis articulated AC servo-driven floor-mounted robot and two or three cutting stations. The ABB IRB 4400L robot, controller, and high-pressure waterjet robot interface kit are configured to deliver speed of 150 to 225 deg/sec and repeatability of ±0.004 in.. ABB's Quickmove self-optimizing motion control provides fast acceleration and constant high speed, even when following the most complex paths.
