Pathtrace Systems Offers CD Demo of EdgeCAM Software

An interactive multimedia demonstration CD-ROM of EdgeCAM and EdgeCAM for Mechanical Desktop is now available from Pathtrace Systems Inc (Ontario, CA), the system's developer. The disc provides information on EdgeCAM's programming capability for turning, milling, and wire EDM, as well as for code verification. EdgeCAM provides complete machining simulation, a full range of 2-axis lathe programming features with extensions to accommodate 4-axis, and C- and Y-axis milling using live tooling.

Both on-screen drawing and data import features support 3-axis milling, surface machining, turning, wire EDM, and toolpath simulation. In addition, EdgeCAM's automatic routines provide a standard format for wire EDM machines with up to 4 axes, significantly simplifying and shortening the model construction time. EdgeCAM also provides true CNC code verification for all milling and turning systems, allowing users to compare the final machined part against the design model.
