Predator Software Acquires X_Net DNC Technology
In an acquisition that will provide expanded market coverage in Scandinavia, Predator Software Inc. (Portland, OR) has acquired direct numeric control (DNC) software and shop floor technology from X_Net A/S, a Denmark-based developer of integrated DNC and shop floor solutions.
Under terms of the agreement, Predator acquires the entire X_Net product line including X_Server, X_Client, X_Watch, X_Stat, X_Graph, X_Doc, X_Tool and X_Mirror. The majority of the products will be re-released under the Predator name throughout 2001. Some applications will be rolled into future releases of current Predator applications.
In addition, X_Net will reorganize into Predator Software A/S and will focus on expanding marketing efforts in Scandinavia in countries that include Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway. As Predator Software A/S, the company will exclusively sell and market the new expanded product offerings.
"We are very excited to join the Predator team—it's definitely a win-win arrangement," says Jørgen Sønder, managing director and founder of X_Net A/S. "In a single day, we have increased our development efforts tenfold, and have achieved a better and more customizable range of products. We can now focus on marketing, selling and distributing Predator's shop floor automation software to new and existing X_Net customers throughout Scandinavia. By combining Predator's development efforts with X_Net's network of highly trained and experienced VARs, we will continue to lead the industry by providing a broader solution to our customers."
Predator Software plans an aggressive integration of X_Net technology within a single Predator DNC networking platform with global support for machine tool communications.
"X_Net's 15 years of experience with European CNC controls is an invaluable addition to Predator's mission of automating the shop floor," says Jim Abbassian, president and co-founder of Predator Software. "By expanding our international CNC compatibility and DNC networking solutions, we provide a solid foundation to further our manufacturing data collection, shop floor control and automation businesses."
This is the third acquisition Predator Software Inc. has completed in the last three years and continues Predator's goal for strategic expansion.
Predator Software Inc. is a privately held developer of CNC verification software, turnkey DNC, and shop floor networking solutions, and a suite of manufacturing execution system (MES) software tools including manufacturing data collection, electronic work instructions and tool/gauge crib management.
