The model 8SR eight-station rotary transfer machine is an example of the modular, custom-built units that the company produces for high production machining of parts and part families. Units are designed and built with precision mechanical components (JD7 cam feed drill units, Hirth coupling indexers) and customized for many different operations including drilling, reaming, milling, tapping, broaching, and assembling among others. Parts can be turned and rechucked within the machine to facilitate machining from all sides.

The model has been designed for automatic machining of endplates for submersible water pumps. It features 32 spindles, combined into six machining units, covering all drilling, reaming, counterboring, and tapping needs for several part configurations. Changeovers are fast and require only the insertion of preset tools in the proper spindles and the selection of the appropriate program on the operator panel. The 8SR was built with a 76 in. diameter cast base, a hydraulic Hirth Ring indexer with ±0.0002 in. indexing, hydraulic way slides, and heavy-duty direct driven multi-spindle heads.
